Tonight my husband said it was from a blown vein, but blood was out from his lower rt. leg.?

He's a big macho man, he refused to go the hospital, so we gauzed it and put a ace bandage on it and it stopped. Here's a bit on his past med. hist. Had a heart attack 2 yrs. next month they figure from being diabetic and not talking care of it. He is on 3 shots a day and long-acting at night. He IS on blood thinners. But he told me this happened before we were even married, almost 5 yrs. He does havevaricosee veins REALLY bad. This blood was literallyspurtingg out of his leg!! Thank you
