How can Appendicitis be avoided?

alrighty then my lil bro just got surgery since he had appendicitis, now this makes me curious as to know how he got it. My Dad also got it but he was i think barely thirty or 28 something. I really don't want to get it, so now i am paraniod. Before the stomach pain do you feel any symptoms like constipation etc... or like a day before do you feel any symptoms that way you can detect it early and hopefully not wait hours until it gets worse? Are there any ways to aviod getting it? Any tips. like if i feel constipated should i feel worried? Please anything can help me sleep soundly at night. I am a person that (HATES) to vomit so if i can detect it early and aviod most of the vomiting that my lil bro also had to suffer it would be great!
