New to House Music...Need help?

I recently discovered house music...well at least that is what a friend told me it was called. I am having a hard time finding songs/artists/dj's that I like. I really like the mixes that are kind of funky jazz/blues and that have soulful voices singing in them. Sounds stupid, but I was hoping someone could recommend some music to me or some CD's I could try. Thanks!
